We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Oral Surgery Assistant to join one of the top-rated oral and maxillofacial surgery practices in Cleveland / Akron / Youngstown Ohio Market, led by a board-certified surgeon known for excellence in patient care and surgical outcomes.

Position Overview:
As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you will support complex surgical procedures including extractions, implants, biopsies, and IV sedation cases. You will work closely with our surgeon, clinical leadership, and administrative staff to ensure the highest standard of care and patient experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide chairside assistance during surgical procedures under local and IV sedation
  • Prepare and maintain surgical operatories and instrument trays in full compliance with OSHA and CDC protocols
  • Take accurate radiographs, including CBCT imaging where applicable
  • Obtain and record vital signs, review medical histories, and assist with sedation monitoring
  • Deliver clear pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and escorts
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation
  • Participate in sterilization, infection control, and daily operatory turnover
  • Travel to affiliated surgical locations as needed (travel fully reimbursed)

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current X-ray license and CPR certification required (ACLS preferred)
  • DAANCE or OMSA certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of oral surgery or surgical assisting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate surgical needs
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality patient care
  • Must be comfortable traveling between locations as part of a coordinated team schedule (travel is reimbursed)
