Overview

The Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is responsible for overseeing all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical activities to provide critical financial insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization. The VP of FP&A will lead a team of financial professionals and act as a strategic business partner to senior executives, functional leaders, and the Board of Directors. 

Responsibilities

  • Finance Planning & Reporting
    • Lead and coordinate all financial planning, including the long-term plan, annual budget, and the monthly/quarter reforecasts.
    • Prepare the monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages with insightful analysis and commentary for executive management, Board, and PE sponsor.
    • Support the lender reporting process, including covenant compliance reporting.
  • Strategic Leadership & Finance
    • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize business outcomes and identify any risks and opportunities.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to department heads, providing financial guidance and support for strategic initiatives, investments, and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Develop business cases for projects, partnerships, and investments, and track performance against business cases.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
    • Act as a thought partner to the CFO and business leaders on growth strategy, ROI initiatives, and capital deployment.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
    • Drive continued adoption of existing financial systems (e.g., JDE and Planful), and lead design and implementation of finance systems that drive efficiency and accuracy.
    • Lead continuous improvement in standardization, consolidation, and automation of finance processes.
    • Ensure the FP&A function is scalable and responsive to the company’s growth plans and evolving needs.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the FP&A team to build a high-performing department.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, and/or senior FP&A roles
  • Strong record of reporting and financial analysis, preferably in a high-growth PE-backed organization
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial systems (e.g., JDE); familiarity with reporting tools such as Planful and PowerBI a plus
  • Experience working with complex multi-location businesses in a private equity-backed environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
